Where do I begin to tell you about Mrs. Dana and all she does for The Hub for Students?!
Mrs. Dana and I met while our children were participating at another local co-op. We did not stage a coup... My kids were participating in that program concurrently with The Hub! Dana and I were partnered to teach a STEM class and we worked really well together. The following summer, I needed an extra set of hands and eyes at a STEM camp and I instantly thought of her. By the end of that camp, I knew I needed to recruit her to do more. After another year- I had her hooked. Her involvement at The Hub has gradually increased and now people think we're sisters (probably because we share a last name, but possibly because half the time we share a brain....).
Mrs. Dana is one of those homeschool moms who doesn't have an educational background, but DOES have a passion for learning, breaking things down and helping others learn, and keeping class interesting for our students. She leads our older classes in the Unit Study Pod program, and this year she will be supervising Thursdays while I am in Savannah teaching math. In addition to the actual work she does with our students, she truly keeps the ship sailing. As The Hub has grown, she has helped me take it from a "small business" where I try to run a one man show to a growing business that requires a team, a budget, a plan, and a task manager!
It's pretty impossible to keep up with Mrs. Dana and understand where her energy and fortitude come from. All I know is we are BLESSED to have her!
